The housing market in the United States has still not recovered, meaning you can find three bedroom homes at some of the lowest rates in recent history. In the past, new homeowners have often started small, purchasing homes with only one or two bedrooms and mostly cramped spaces. Today, if you are in the market to buy, there are excellent reasons to invest in a larger home that can let you grow to start a family without having to upgrade. If you choose the right city or suburb you may be able to save yourself even more while the economy tries to recover.
The more traditional conventional wisdom is that a new family needs to start small. After marrying, couples would buy a house with only one bedroom, or maybe two, that was intended to serve simply as a starter home. They would live here cheaply for a few years while they saved up, or worked towards some promotions at their jobs, after which they would move into something larger. If they wanted children, often they would wait until they moved, or have the child sleep in their bedroom for the first year or two.
With homes so cheap today, this is not necessary to do. Instead, many couples are able to look at buying three bedroom homes from the start. They can move right in, and enjoy the low price for many years and many children to come. Being able to afford a home you can grow into will save you money and make life much easier throughout the coming years. Three bedroom homes also tend to be the point where homes are large enough to have some extra amenities to them. These homes are more likely to have larger living rooms, game rooms, larger yards, and garages than a small one or two bed that is built to be cheap.
Once you are looking at three bedroom homes you are able to buy a home for the luxuries that it can offer you. Instead of being forced to buy a ‘stop-gap’ home, you can move right in to something that actually suits you. Buying a three bedroom home will give you much more freedom and comfort than a one or two bedroom home ever could.
